  • Stand up call

Minutes

Asa:

  • Benchmarking on several compilers
  • Now have a lot of numbers, time to process
  • Will look at doing a similar report to previous ones
  • Compared SPEC 2000 with train and ref runs
  • Something strange with the results

Peter:

  • Now have a set of KVM related blueprints
  • Sent emails to see if anyone else is working on it
  • Getting machine set up to build all the right bits
  • ...lots of cross compile stuff
  • Now has a kernel with up to date KVM patches

Zhenquiang:

  • Upstreaming patches to crosstool-NG
  • Still getting agreement especially on dependant libraries
  • For Linux hosts use the system libraries
  • Still need them for Windows
  • Testing link issues with Windows libraries - seeing warnings

Revital:

  • Sent patch for register pressure in SMS to the mailing list
  • Met with the maintainer, had some ideas to improve, did partial review
  • Running EEMBC and libav to look for regressions with and without

Richard:

  • Looked into the MIPS issue, not enough information to reproduce
  • Had a look at the backport of DAWRF-2 location tracking
  • Re-testing on 4.6 and 4.5
  • Sched pressure past that

Ramana:

  • Looking at cases with VMLA and forwarding in the scheduler
  • Upstream patch review, internal work

Ira:

  • Looking at the peeling in EON. Reduces the regression to 1.5 %
  • Also an auto increment issue
  • Don't peel if number of vector loops <= 2

  • Also helps with a few others
    • ...as there as no peeling for double words but is for quad

Michael:

  • Getting a presentation ready for two weeks time
  • crosstool-NG and binary builds

Ken:

  • I've spent most of my time to dig into OE
  • First I started with OE (classic)
  • then realized that OE-core is where the future happens and switched to it
  • I've set up a build system and got a ARM minimal image to build *yay*
  • My next step is to boot it up using QEMU
  • In parallel I've been reading the manual and looked into the receipts to find out what toolchain they are using (gcc-4_6-branch plus patches).
